Sunbeam Ironmaster, steam iron, 1970s, pre-loved
1200w, made in Australia, 1970s
Excellent working condition, electrician test in August 2022, with orginal factor cord bundled with new plug and attachment.
Sunbeam are synonomous with the steam iron. The American company launched their first branded household appliance in 1910; the Princess Electric Iron. It was built like a tank, solid and heavy. The plating is of high quality. It was sold as "The Iron of Irons".
This model is Sunbeam's most popular model prior to the base weight being sifnificantly reduced. For my money, the older irons are much better, as the heavier weight makes ironing quicker and easier. The more lightweight, modern equivalents may have higher power wattage, but they don't have the efficacy as models like this.
Aesthetic Condition - Only visible signs of wear are couple of light marks on iron base and around the base rim. Otherwise looks almost as good as the day it was released.
