Meet Lil’ Legacy, the Legacy Pan’s smaller and slightly cuter sibling. Like all Ironclad Cookware, the Lil’ Legacy is 100% New Zealand made and hand-poured to order. So every Lil’ Legacy is as unique as the family recipes it will prepare.

Made with recycled T100 iron, like its predecessor, the Lil’ Legacy has also been designed to withstand three generations of daily use. In short, it’s just as tough, it’s just lighter and smaller. With the right preparation and a little care, Lil’ Legacy will just get better with age.

Over the next century, it will transform from the unseasoned silver grey to a bronze after the first seasoning, gradually changing to a rich copper black.

All Ironclad Cookware arrives fresh from the foundry unseasoned - because unseasoned means no paint or chemicals. But don’t worry, everything you need to prepare your skillet comes in the box.

When it arrives, the box will include a bottle of Marlborough Grape Seed Seasoning Oil, an Ironclad cotton storage bag, printed care instructions, and a hand-signed Three Generation Guarantee™.

The Ironclad Pan Company was founded in 2019 by Kate Slavin, Levi Slavin and Joe Carter. Their aim was to create a sustainable product that would be a return to beautiful craft and traditional techniques. In an era of disposable stuff, the team wanted to create a product that would last for generations.

Levi and Kate had a set at home that they had inherited. Each daily use was a reminder of their family. And when family recipes were prepared in the original skillets—splashing oil where they had splashed oil, carefully placing fish where they had placed fish—something magical seemed to happen. It was a true connection through time.

As their family grew, like all parents, so did their desire to leave a healthier planet for their children. So Kate, a designer by trade, began to sketch designs for a new skillet. One that would be sustainably manufactured here in New Zealand and last for generations to come.

Next, Felicity Morgan-Rhind joined the team. A chef and film director, Felicity elevated the vision of the brand with her beautiful recipes and food styling using the wonderful Ironclad pans.
