Handblown Glass - Jade
Made in New Zealand
Each Lukeke glass tumbler is a work of art, made by Luke Jacomb, one of only a handful of Venetian trained glass blowers in New Zealand.
Each tumbler is unique; handcrafted with crushed newspaper. Every time the mould is blown into, the form of the tumbler changes as the newspaper burns and moves after each use. The result is an organic looking form, which is a result of the process. The process of blowing in the mould is evident within the final product.
Second generation glass maker, Luke spent his apprenticeship training under Murano Glass Masters in Venice, and has since risen to the forefront of the international studio glass movement. His reputation is firmly established in the United States with representation in significant private and public collections, including the Ebeltoff Glass Museum (Denmark), Corning Museum of Glass (New York, USA) and the New Orleans Museum of Art (Louisiana, USA).
The tumblers make stunning gifts for special occasions, weddings or significant birthdays and anniversaries.
